Regis Foster - Longtime Port Jervis City Educator

Regis Foster was a Port Jervis, New York, special education and social studies teacher for two decades. He fostered an inclusive environment for high school students of global history and geography. Responsible for 18 special education students each year, Regis Foster designed and monitored individual education plans and coordinated with the general education teacher of each pupil on testing and program modifications.

Mr. Foster also has past experience as an elementary and secondary summer school principal. In this position, he developed master schedules. Ensuring that all policies and procedures were enforced, he also oversaw a remedial program, as well as an enrichment summer program conducted before and after summer school hours.

Mr. Foster served for six years as president of the Port Jervis Teachers’ Association Union, and has been active with the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development since 2005. He maintains a strong community presence and is a long-standing member of the Port Jervis Knights of Columbus Council, serving as financial secretary. A gardening and landscaping enthusiast, he also enjoys watching New York Giants’ football in his free time.
